Shopify integrations
Shopify API integrations and REST to GraphQL migrations
We connect Shopify to the systems that run your business, such as ERP, warehouse, CRM, PIM and accounting tools, and rebuild older integrations on the GraphQL Admin API. Every sync gets verified webhooks, rate-limit handling, a reconciliation job and monitoring, so stock, orders and prices stay correct.
What changed for Shopify integrations
- 01
October 1, 2024
the REST Admin API became legacy. New features are added to the GraphQL Admin API only, and the product and variant REST endpoints are deprecated.
- 02
April 1, 2025
new public apps submitted to the Shopify App Store must use the GraphQL Admin API.
- 03
January 1, 2026
custom apps can no longer be created in the Shopify admin. New ones are built in the Dev Dashboard.
- 04
January 1, 2027
every public app must use expiring offline access tokens.
- 05
Every quarter
Shopify releases a new API version and supports each one for at least 12 months. A request to a retired version is answered by the oldest supported version, so behaviour can change without a deploy.
Signs your integration needs work
Stock or prices in Shopify drift from your ERP or warehouse system.
Orders reach fulfilment or accounting late, twice, or not at all.
Sync jobs hit throttling errors or take hours to finish.
Shopify emailed warnings about failing webhooks, or a subscription was removed.
Your logs show the X-Shopify-API-Deprecated-Reason header or calls to product REST endpoints.
Only one developer knows how the integration works.
What we replace, and with what
| What we often find | How we rebuild it |
|---|---|
| What we often find01REST calls, including deprecated product and variant endpoints | How we rebuild itThe GraphQL Admin API behind one client with a pinned version, cost-based throttling and userErrors checks |
| What we often find02Polling the API every few minutes for new orders | How we rebuild itWebhooks verified with HMAC, pushed to a queue, and answered within Shopify's five-second limit |
| What we often find03Webhooks treated as the only source of truth | How we rebuild itWebhooks plus a reconciliation job that fetches records changed since the last run, because delivery isn't guaranteed or ordered |
| What we often find04Nightly exports that page through the whole catalogue | How we rebuild itBulk operations that return a JSONL file, with a webhook when the job finishes |
| What we often find05One web server receiving every webhook at high volume | How we rebuild itDelivery to Google Cloud Pub/Sub or Amazon EventBridge |

Integration audit and GraphQL migration
A fixed-scope job for stores and app teams whose sync with an ERP, warehouse, CRM or accounting system still runs on REST, polls the API or loses data.
What we do
- List every Shopify API call the integration makes, with its version and deprecation status
- Move REST calls to the GraphQL Admin API behind one shared client for auth, versioning, throttling and retries
- Replace polling with verified webhooks and a queue
- Add a reconciliation job so missed or late webhooks are corrected automatically
- Switch large imports and exports to bulk operations
What you get
- A staged cutover: read paths shadow-run against REST before any write switches
- Alerts for throttling, userErrors and failed webhook deliveries
- A handover document covering data flows, field ownership and how to re-run a sync
Fixed price, quoted after we review the integration's code or API logs.
New integrations we build
Use an App Store connector if one supports your systems and data model. When none fits, or the connector can't handle your fields, rules or volumes, we build a custom integration as an app you own.
- 01
Two-way inventory and price sync between Shopify and your ERP or warehouse system
- 02
Order export to fulfilment, 3PL and accounting systems, with status and tracking sent back to Shopify
- 03
Customer data synced with your CRM, with a clear owner for each field
- 04
Product data from a PIM or supplier feed imported into products, metafields and metaobjects
How it works
- 01
Map
We list each system, the data that moves between them, which side owns each field, and how often it changes.
- 02
Fixed quote
We confirm the scope and a fixed price before any work starts.
- 03
Build and shadow-run
We build against a development store, then compare results against your live data before switching over.
- 04
Monitor and hand over
Alerts go live with the integration, and you get the code, credentials and documentation.

Shopify integration questions
Start with a connector if it supports your systems and data model, because it's usually cheaper to run. A custom integration makes sense when you need fields, rules or volumes the connector can't handle, or when you're paying people to fix its gaps by hand. We'll tell you if a connector is enough.
Not all at once. The REST Admin API has been legacy since October 1, 2024 and the product and variant endpoints are deprecated. Shopify hasn't announced a sunset date for the other endpoints existing apps use, but new features only reach GraphQL, and each API version is supported for at least 12 months. Migrating on your schedule costs less than migrating against a deadline.
Shopify doesn't guarantee webhook order or delivery. It retries a failed delivery 8 times over 4 hours, then deletes a subscription created through the Admin API after 8 consecutive failures. We answer webhooks within five seconds, process them from a queue, ignore duplicates using the webhook ID, and run a reconciliation job that fetches anything changed since the last run.
You do. We can build it in your own Dev Dashboard organization and code repository, so the app, its credentials and the code stay with you after the project ends.
A staff or collaborator account with permission to develop apps, API or sandbox access for the other system, and the current integration's code or logs if you have them.
